Cohorts

Cohorts group people who start around the same time, such as an onboarding intake, a training class, or a bootcamp, so they go through the same program together. Build one cohort program and Doozy creates each cohort, adds the right people, opens a Slack channel if you want one, and runs your tracks on schedule.

How cohorts form

Choose how people are added when you create the program.

  • By start date: set a cadence of daily, weekly, every two weeks, or every four weeks. Doozy creates cohorts on that schedule and adds the people whose start date falls in each one's range
  • Add manually: create each cohort yourself, set its dates, and pick its members

Start dates come from your connected HRIS, or from Slack join dates when there's no HRIS.

A Slack channel per cohort

Each cohort gets a fresh channel, created from a name template based on the program name, with a live preview as you edit it. Link one channel that every cohort shares instead, or run a program with no channel at all. Facilitators on the program's access list are added to each cohort's channel to help run the cohort.

Cohort tracks and per-person tracks

A program runs two kinds of tracks:

  • A cohort track runs once for the whole group, such as a kickoff post in the channel or a group quiz
  • A per-person track runs for each person, timed from the cohort's start in their own timezone

Managing a cohort

  • Add, exclude, restore, or move people between cohorts in the same program
  • Change a cohort's intake dates, split one in two, or remove a week from the schedule
  • Late starters join a cohort that's already running and catch up; if theirs has finished, they fall forward to the next one
  • Pause a program to stop new cohorts forming, without interrupting cohorts already under way
  • Give each person viewer, editor, or admin access per program

Cohorts is rolling out gradually. Contact support@doozy.live to turn it on for your workspace.
